i).The elderly people could access this facility through a helpline number 1253.A separate control room is set up for this purpose consisting of 9 police personnel including a woman sub-inspector and a woman constable. A petrol car is also provided ready to go and help the elderly immediately when needed. This has received a huge welcome from the chennaities. Plans to extend this service to other major cities of the state are under progress.
